Outer Orbit is operated by Orff Family Solutions LLC (“Outer Orbit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Outer Orbit app or visit myouterorbit.com.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: an anonymous account identifier and the profile details you choose to add, such as a display name and a required profile face photo (avatar).
- Messages and content: messages, reactions, or other content you send through the app, plus the people or orbits involved.
- Support information: information you provide when you contact us, such as your email address and the contents of your request.
Information created when you connect
- QR invites: QR codes, invite tokens, and metadata needed to create, accept, expire, or revoke an invitation.
- Address book and orbit information: connections you save, labels or notes you add, and the relationship between accounts in your orbit.
Information collected automatically
We may receive basic device, app, network, and diagnostic information such as device type, operating system, app version, approximate region, crash reports, and timestamps. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the service. We do not use it to build a social advertising profile.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide chat, QR invites, address book, and orbit features; authenticate and secure accounts; deliver messages and notifications; provide support; diagnose errors; prevent abuse and fraud; understand aggregate usage; comply with law; and enforce our terms.
4. How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, and support Outer Orbit, under contractual or other safeguards. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information or share message content for targeted advertising.
Your messages are shared with the recipients and participants you choose. QR codes and invite links should be treated as shareable access credentials until they expire or are revoked.
5. Retention and deletion
Retention periods differ by data type:
- Chat messages and reactions: We delete live chat content after 30 days.
- Orbit connections: We retain Address Book / orbit connection records (including active, ended, and expired connections) until you delete your account, so we can provide the service and maintain preference signals that power optional features. You may still request full account deletion.
We may also retain information as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. You may request deletion of your account and associated information by contacting us at [email protected]. Some information may remain in backups or where we must retain it for legal or safety reasons.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can also manage notifications and remove connections in the app. To make a request, contact us using the address above. We may verify your request before completing it.
7. Children
Outer Orbit is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and do not share private invite links or account access.
9. International transfers
Outer Orbit and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Outer Orbit changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel where required by law.
